Long term and short term deformities and conditions are present in the child. Other factors play a part into why women abuse substance such as stress, depression, and mental issues. More treatment and pre-education should provided to women to inform them of the cause and effects of substance abuse. Not only does alcohol abuse cause low birth weight it also causes a disorder and a condition that children are stuck with for life. Alcohol abuse causes long term and short defects in the child. In addiction to alcohol abuse, tobacco use is also another substance that pregnant women abuse. Tobacco use also causes low birth weight when the child is born. Tobacco use also correlates with the amount of milk a mother is able to produce. According to Lisa Amir and Susan Donath â€Å"nicotine levels in breastmilk of women who smoke are almost three times higher than the level in the mother’s blood†. That quotes shows how tobacco use will affect the mother as well as the child when its born. A mother’s milk is a major component for the child to continue to receive nutrients after they are birthed. Therefore for a mother to use tobacco use while pregnant will cause issue. Likewise, tobacco use affects the placenta for example, â€Å" Smoking can cause problems with the placenta—the source of the baby s food and oxygen during pregnancy. For example, the placenta can separate from the womb too early, causing bleeding, which is dangerous to the mother and baby† (Tobacco use and pregnancy. Web). Annotated Bibliography On Obedience And Authority Essay

Part I: Research paper topic and outline Obedience to Authority Abbygale Javier [IT 150G, 14111; On-line; Elizabeth Rasnick; September 29, 2016] I. Introduction A. Motivation of this research There are little facts about the role of obedience up until now. Psychologists have been debating on factors that constitute obedience within an individual. For example, certain theories suggest that people do horrible actions only if they are ordered to do so. Research has shown that most people obey all orders given to them by the authority-figure. The idea of this topic came to me while flipping through channels. I came across a show called 20/20, on the investigative channel. The show goes through a series of crimes and murders and provides insight on how the crime came to be and why. On a particular episode, a successful businessman orders a new intern to â€Å"take care† of someone to gain favor from him. The intern is noted to be kind and helpful by his friends and family, so it had caused a shock to hear that he had murdered someone. Would he have committed this crime if he wasn’t told to? That is what I seek to know more about. B. Research question and objectives To what extent will people act based on an order they were given? My objective is to introduce the topic of obedience to authority and provide an awareness of the vulnerability that most people have in this area. Today, there are theories that focus primarily on characteristics that explain wrong-doing and howShow MoreRelatedAnnotated Bibliography On Obedience And Authority Essay1358 Words   |  6 Pagesof â€Å"Obedience to Authority,† Milgram aptly points out that â€Å"some system of authority is a requirement of all communal living†(Milgram 1). This is a universal human truth. Authority is something that humanity, from the beginning of time, has consistently relied upon. Milgram argues that â€Å"obedience is the psychological mechanism that links individual action to political purpose† and that it is the â€Å"dispositional cement that binds men to systems of authority† (Milgram 1). I argue that obedience is as instinctual as the flight or fight mechanism of the brain. There is an intrinsic desire to follow something, whether that be a religious icon, a political leader, or a social role model. Obedience, like the need for authority, is part of what gives man a specific identity. Obedience is a social and cultural necessity. While the importance and influence of obedience differs culture to culture, between all groups of people, in all types of countries, and under all forms of government, however menial, it is as ingrained as is smiling or frowning. People have long been uncomfortable when they feel lack of purpose or a meaning; it can be a hopeless life when one thinks they are a random, purposeless dot in a bunch of chaos. So, when people are united under an authority and they are given orders, no matter how bizarre or unethical, their authority has given them a purpose and a meaning. People need to obey. Mosfet Free Essays

Jovany Tavera August 7, 2011 ET 475 Electronic Design William Shockley proposed the Field Effect Transistor (FET) in 1952. FETs are majority carrier devices and its operation depends on its applied voltage to control the majority carriers. The applied voltage controls the current in the device by means of an electric field. We will write a custom essay sample on Mosfet or any similar topic only for you Order Now FETs are voltage sensitive with high input impedance. FETs are more temperature stable then Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT). They are easier to fabricate than BJTs. FETs, with their high input impedance, can store charge long enough to be used as storage elements. A later version of FETs is the metal-oxide semiconductor FET (MOSFET). There are four terminals in total: source, gate, drain and the substrate. The MOSFET is constructed with the gate insulated with a silicon dioxide dielectric. Depletion and enhancement is the two modes on the MOSFET. MOSFETs are also known as IGFETs (Insulated Gate Field Effect Transistor). Just as BJTs has either npn or pnp, MOSFETs can be either NMOS or PMOS. The depletion mode was design with a physical channel connected between the drain and source. In operation, a negative gate-to-source voltage pushes out electrons from the channel region, therefore depleting the channel. When the gate-to-source voltage reaches the threshold voltage the channel is pinched off. A positive charge of the gate-to-source voltages increases the channel size, as a result, an increase of drain current. Due to the insulated gate, the gate current is extremely small. Enhancement MOSFET is different from depletion MOSFET due to not having the thin n-layer. In order to establish a channel it requires a positive voltage between the gate and the source. Positive gate-to-source voltage accumulates electrons at the surface beneath the oxide layer. When the voltage reaches the threshold voltage a number of electrons are attracted to the substrate region therefore acting as an conducting n-channel. No current exist in the drain until gate-to-source voltage exceeds the threshold voltage. How to cite Mosfet, Papers
